Job summary

Association of Test Preparation, Admissions, and Private Tutoring is seeking a Senior Instructor in Westport, CT to lead ACT/SAT instruction and support a cohort of students. The role emphasizes understanding student thinking, adapting instruction, and building strong relationships with families.

The position requires 7+ years of direct instruction, experience with learning differences and accommodations, and a willingness to contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience instructing students in ACT and/or SAT exam preparation.
• Experience working with students who have diagnosed learning differences and accommodations on standardized testing.
• Exceptional organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Meet one-on-one with a cohort of students to teach test prep skills (~20–24 hours/week).
• Establish and maintain productive relationships with students and families.
• Collaborate with Test Prep Leadership to plan for each student while keeping client information confidential.
• Interact with Instructors from other departments to provide holistic student support.
• Attend Test Prep meetings and development opportunities.
• Support students in testing accommodations applications.
