Job summary

EY in the United States is seeking an SAP IS-U Billing Senior Consultant to design, configure, test, and implement SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing solutions for utilities. You will translate billing requirements into effective functional designs and work across business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure accurate, timely customer bills.

In this role you’ll lead end-to-end discussions, support testing cycles, and drive successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Typically 3–4 years SAP IS-U or SAP Utilities experience, including ≥3 years with SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing.
• Experience delivering functional requirements, configuration or design, testing, and production support in a utility environment.
• Experience configuring SAP IS-U billing schemas, rates, facts, operands, billing master data and cycle processes.
• Understanding meter-to-cash dependencies and related systems (FI-CA, Energy Data Management, Customer Service).
• Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into SAP IS-U designs.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Willingness to travel 40–60% to meet client needs.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze billing requirements across electric, gas, and water utilities.
• Configure and support SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing solutions and related master data.
• Handle billing and invoicing processes, including bill outputs and financial postings with FI-CA.
• Analyze billing exceptions and root causes across meter reads, rates, and contract data.
• Prepare functional designs, configuration docs, test scenarios, and process flows.
• Execute unit and integration testing; support UAT, regression, and cutover activities.
• Coordinate end-to-end process impacts across related workstreams and teams.
• Provide knowledge transfer and guidance to client teams and junior staff.
