Job summary

Consumers Energy is seeking a Sr. Software Configuration Analyst to configure, maintain, and optimize SAP HR and related COTS solutions. You will lead architectural decisions, ensure seamless integrations, and drive improvements across HR-related software ecosystems.

The role emphasizes strong collaboration, vendor management, and delivering scalable, compliant, and high‑quality configurations within a dynamic energy company environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field with four (4) or more years of experience in software configuration, development, testing, system administration, and/or maintenance
• [OR] Associate's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline with six (6) or more years of experience in software configuration, development, testing, system administration, and/or maintenance
• [OR] High School Diploma/GED with degree with eight (8) or more years of experience in software configuration, development, testing, system administration, and/or maintenance

Responsibilities

• Develop scripts or software components within vendor-provided solutions to perform advanced configuration tasks, enable automation, and implement system enhancements
• Apply deep knowledge of business processes to gather requirements, evaluate potential solutions, and recommend software options that meet organizational goals
• Make significant architectural decisions and lead integration of COTS solutions into the existing technology ecosystem
• Identify opportunities for process automation and optimization to increase efficiency and reduce costs
• Continuously improve COTS solution quality throughout the software lifecycle by incorporating emerging best practices
• Design and administer application systems using database management principles, data modeling, warehousing, and transaction processing
• May perform other duties as assigned
