Job summary

Aquatech International is seeking an experienced Finance SAP FI/CO leader in Houston to own design, configuration, and optimization of the FI/CO scope across GL, AP, AR, asset accounting, and more. You will drive future-state ERP initiatives, data conversion, testing, and hypercare, while guiding change management and process documentation.

The role requires 7+ years in accounting/finance with hands-on SAP FI/CO, plus 3+ years leading ERP finance projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in accounting, finance, financial systems, consulting, or finance transformation, including at least 5 years of hands‑on SAP Finance and Controlling (FI/CO) experience.
3+ years of experience leading SAP or ERP finance projects, with demonstrated ownership of FI/CO workstreams or end‑to‑end initiatives.
CPA, CMA, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or SAP FI/CO or S/4HANA Finance certification is preferred but not required.
Strong understanding of accounting and finance processes such as general ledger, close, reporting, reconciliations, AP, AR, procurement, billing, budgeting, forecasting, and project accounting.
Experience on at least one full‑lifecycle SAP or ERP implementation, from design through go‑live and hypercare. SAP S/4HANA implementation or ECC‑to‑S/4HANA migration experience is strongly preferred.
Understanding of SAP integration points with consolidation, planning, banking, and reporting tools, along with SAP security roles, SOX, and IT general controls.
Exposure to other ERP platforms such as Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, or Microsoft Dynamics is a plus to support future‑state evaluation.
Experience with OneStream, Snowflake, Power BI, BlackLine, Coupa, Concur, or similar tools is preferred.
Strong Excel, reporting, analytical, problem‑solving, project management, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, influence cross‑functional teams, and operate independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Lead FI/CO design, configuration, enhancements, issue resolution, and period-end support across GL, AP, AR, asset accounting, cost center and profit center accounting, internal orders, and PS.
Represent Finance in ERP assessment and implementation, including business process review, requirements, fit-gap analysis, design, data conversion, testing, cutover, and hypercare.
Manage finance systems implementations, enhancements, integrations, and optimization across ERP and related platforms.
Drive finance transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, standardization, controls, reporting, and scalability.
Partner with Finance leadership to simplify and automate manual processes.
Lead month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and project accounting transformations.
Evaluate process gaps and recommend scalable ERP/system solutions.
Lead SAP optimization initiatives including cost/profit center redesign and segment reporting.
Own change management activities and training.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and adoption.
Establish governance, track risks, and escalate issues as needed.
Support roadmap prioritization and alignment with business objectives.
