Aquatech is seeking a Financial Systems Manager to lead SAP FI/CO and finance transformation efforts in a hybrid Houston role. You will drive design, configuration, and optimization across GL, AP, AR, and project accounting, interfacing with IT and operations to deliver scalable finance solutions.
The role requires 7+ years in accounting/finance with 5+ years in FI/CO, plus experience leading ERP projects and a strong grip on SOX controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
- 7+ years in accounting, finance, financial systems, consulting, or transformation with 5+ years FI/CO experience.
- 3+ years leading SAP or ERP finance projects with FI/CO ownership.
- CPA/CMA/PMP/Lean Six Sigma/SAP FI/CO or S/4HANA cert preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of GL, close, reporting, reconciliations, AP, AR, budgeting, forecasting, and project accounting.
- Experience in full-lifecycle SAP/ERP implementation; S/4HANA ECC-to-S/4HANA migration preferred.
- Understanding of SAP integration with consolidation, planning, banking, and reporting tools; SAP security roles, SOX, ITGC.
- Exposure to ERP platforms like Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, MS Dynamics is a plus.
- Experience with OneStream, Snowflake, Power BI, BlackLine, Coupa, Concur or similar tools preferred.
- Strong Excel, reporting, analytical, problem-solving, PM and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.

Financial Systems Manager to join our team in Houston, TX. This is a Hybrid position and will report to the Director, Financial Systems. This role will lead finance transformation initiatives, finance system implementations, SAP FI/CO improvements, process standardization, testing, training, and post-go-live support. This position may require up to 25% of domestic and international travel and will be considered an exempt employee.
- Serve as the finance functional lead for the current SAP ECC environment, owning FI/CO design, configuration, enhancements, issue resolution, and period-end support across GL, AP, AR, asset accounting, cost center and profit center accounting, internal orders, and Project System (PS).
- Represent Finance in the future-state ERP assessment and implementation, including current-state process and data review, requirements, fit-gap analysis, solution design, data conversion, testing, cutover, and hypercare.
- Manage finance systems implementations, enhancements, integrations, and optimization initiatives across ERP and adjacent financial platforms.
- Lead finance transformation initiatives focused on improving efficiency, standardization, controls, reporting, and scalability across finance and accounting processes.
- Partner with Finance and Accounting leadership to identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate manual, fragmented, or inconsistent processes.
- Lead transformation efforts across month-end close, account reconciliations, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and project accounting processes.
- Evaluate process gaps between current business practices and ERP/system capabilities, and recommend scalable solutions aligned with operational and business needs.
- Lead SAP optimization initiatives in the current environment, including profit center activation, cost center redesign, segment reporting, project accounting, revenue and cost recognition, intercompany, and journal workflow and controls.
- Own change management activities, including stakeholder alignment, communication planning, user readiness, training strategy, adoption tracking, and post-implementation support.
- Oversee development and maintenance of process documentation, standard operating procedures, control documentation, system workflows, and training materials for new or enhanced finance processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Accounting, IT, Operations, and external implementation partners to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and with sustainable adoption.
- Establish project governance, clarify ownership, track risks and dependencies, and elevate issues appropriately to support successful execution.
- Support prioritization of the financial systems roadmap and help align ongoing enhancements with strategic finance and business objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
