Job summary

Aquatech International LLC in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Finance SAP FI/CO Lead to own design, configuration, and ongoing support across GL, AP, AR, and related modules. You will guide ERP assessments, data conversion, testing, and hypercare while driving standardization and automation across finance processes.

You will lead transformation initiatives, align with leadership, and oversee change management and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or IS.
• 7+ years in accounting/finance with SAP FI/CO experience (5+ years hands-on).
• 3+ years leading SAP/ERP finance projects with FI/CO ownership.
• CPA, CMA, PMP or SAP FI/CO or S/4HANA certs preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of GL, close, reporting, reconciliations, AP/AR, budgeting, forecasting, and project accounting.

Responsibilities

Job Description

• Serve as the finance functional lead for the current SAP ECC environment, owning FI/CO design, configuration, enhancements, issue resolution, and period-end support across GL, AP, AR, asset accounting, cost center and profit center accounting, internal orders, and Project System (PS).
• Represent Finance in the future-state ERP assessment and implementation, including current-state process and data review, requirements, fit-gap analysis, solution design, data conversion, testing, cutover, and hypercare.
• Manage finance systems implementations, enhancements, integrations, and optimization initiatives across ERP and adjacent financial platforms.
• Lead finance transformation initiatives focused on improving efficiency, standardization, controls, reporting, and scalability across finance and accounting processes.
• Partner with Finance and Accounting leadership to identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate manual, fragmented, or inconsistent processes.
• Lead transformation efforts across month-end close, account reconciliations, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and project accounting processes.
• Evaluate process gaps between current business practices and ERP/system capabilities, and recommend scalable solutions aligned with operational and business needs.
• Lead SAP optimization initiatives in the current environment, including profit center activation, cost center redesign, segment reporting, project accounting, revenue and cost recognition, intercompany, and journal workflow and controls.
• Own change management activities, including stakeholder alignment, communication planning, user readiness, training strategy, adoption tracking, and post-implementation support.
• Oversee development and maintenance of process documentation, standard operating procedures, control documentation, system workflows, and training materials for new or enhanced finance processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Accounting, IT, Operations, and external implementation partners to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and with sustainable adoption.
• Establish project governance, clarify ownership, track risks and dependencies, and escalate issues appropriately to support successful execution.
• Support prioritization of the financial systems roadmap and help align ongoing enhancements with strategic finance and business objectives.

Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in accounting, finance, financial systems, consulting, or finance transformation, including at least 5 years of hands‑on SAP Finance and Controlling (FI/CO) experience.
• 3+ years of experience leading SAP or ERP finance projects, with demonstrated ownership of FI/CO workstreams or end‑to‑end initiatives.
• CPA, CMA, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or SAP FI/CO or S/4HANA Finance certification is preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of accounting and finance processes such as general ledger, close, reporting, reconciliations, AP, AR, procurement, billing, budgeting, forecasting, and project accounting.
• Experience on at least one full‑lifecycle SAP or ERP implementation, from design through go‑live and hypercare. SAP S/4HANA implementation or ECC‑to‑S/4HANA migration experience is strongly preferred.
• Understanding of SAP integration points with consolidation, planning, banking, and reporting tools, along with SAP security roles, SOX, and IT general controls.
• Exposure to other ERP platforms such as Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, or Microsoft Dynamics is a plus to support future‑state evaluation.
• Experience with OneStream, Snowflake, Power BI, BlackLine, Coupa, Concur, or similar tools is preferred.
• Strong Excel, reporting, analytical, problem‑solving, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, influence cross‑functional teams, and operate independently with minimal supervision.
