Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA in Salisbury, NC, seeks a Senior SAP Application Developer to design, build, and deliver SAP solutions across S/4HANA and SAP BTP for the Retail Spine program.

You will work with SAP Platform Engineering, functional technology leads, and SI partners to ensure secure, scalable extensions, follow Clean Core principles, and contribute to a modern, AI-enabled development approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years SAP application development experience including ABAP, Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP, and integration technologies.
• Hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA development, BTP, Integration Suite, CPI, Joule AI, CDS views, RAP model, OData services, and SAP extensibility patterns.
• Strong understanding of Clean Core principles and SAP recommended customization approaches.
• Experience working with Systems Integrators and multi-vendor delivery teams.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery models, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines in SAP environments.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver SAP solutions across S/4HANA and SAP BTP in alignment with Retail Spine program objectives.
• Enforce Clean Core extensibility standards across development activity, leveraging SAP patterns (BAdIs, released APIs, RAP-based extensions, side-by-side BTP extensions, event-driven architectures).
• Define and maintain development taxonomy and scope across ABAP (RAP, CDS, OData), Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP services, automation, forms, integrations, and cloud-native components.
• Adopt API-first and service-based design standards using OData, REST, CPI, and event messaging frameworks.
• Monitor and validate SI-delivered work for architecture, code quality, security, and performance; participate in reviews and governance.
• Partner with SAP Solution Architects, Platform, and Basis to align with target architecture and modernization roadmap.
• Oversee full development lifecycle: coding standards, architecture reviews, automated testing, DevSecOps, transport management, and release readiness.
