Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to spearhead our SAP BTP/CAP Java and Fiori team. You will lead a high-performing group, shaping architecture and driving delivery across design, prototyping, development, and deployment.

You will partner with the Team Architect and Product Manager to translate complex roadmaps into modular technical solutions. You will mentor engineers, champion code quality and automated testing, and collaborate with QA, UX, and other stakeholders

Qualifications

At least 7+ years of professional experience in coding web-based applications and coordinating a development team.
Proven experience leading software teams to deliver commercial-grade software.
Mastery of Java, Spring Boot, and robust web service development.
Strong SAP BTP/CAP experience with Fiori-based development (SAPUI5, OData, CAP CDS).
Experience with API-first design (Swagger, REST, GraphQL) and web APIs.
Familiarity with SAP HANA DB and at least one other RDBMS.
Proficient with GitHub, Jenkins, Selenium, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Puppet, and Chef.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and coordinate a high-performing development team to build and scale software.
Hands-on involvement across design, prototyping, development, deployment, and iteration.
Collaborate with the Team Architect to translate roadmap features into technical components.
Advocate for coding best practices, automated testing, and scalable microservices.
Partner with Product Managers, QA, UX, and engineering stakeholders on scope and timelines.
Analyze production issues and customer requests, escalating as needed.
Balance technical excellence with business needs to ensure timely delivery.
