Job summary

gpac is seeking a Senior State & Local Tax (SALT) Manager to join its growing tax team. The role leads SALT engagements across multiple industries and mentors staff, contributing to the expansion of the practice.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting, an active CPA license (MST preferred) and 8+ years of SALT experience in public accounting or industry. You will advise on state tax planning and ensure high-quality client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Active CPA required; MST preferred.
• 8+ years of State & Local Tax experience in public accounting or industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage State & Local Tax consulting and compliance engagements.
• Research and analyze complex state and local tax issues.
• Advise clients on state tax planning, compliance, and tax-saving opportunities.
• Manage client relationships and provide exceptional client service.
• Review technical tax work and ensure quality and accuracy.
• Oversee, train, and mentor tax professionals.
• Assist with practice development and business development initiatives.
