Crowe is hiring a State & Local Tax (SALT) Senior Manager in Chicago to lead complex SALT engagements within our M&A Tax Transaction Advisory practice. You will advise clients on state tax risks, opportunities, and transaction structuring while mentoring teams and driving client success.

The role requires deep SALT expertise, 8+ years of experience, and a proven ability to manage multiple engagements and client relationships in a consultative, results-driven manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, tax, or related field.
• CPA, JD, LLM, or other credential preferred.
• 8+ years of public accounting, consulting, or corporate tax experience.
• Minimum 5 years of specialized State & Local Tax experience.
• Significant experience leading SALT due diligence, transaction advisory, restructuring or M&A tax engagements.

Responsabilités

• State & Local Tax advisory for complex matters including income, franchise, gross receipts, sales and use, property, payroll, and unclaimed property taxes.
• Lead SALT due diligence engagements for acquisitions, dispositions, carve-outs, and restructurings.
• Advise on state tax planning, risk mitigation, and transaction structuring alternatives.
• Model state tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, and post-transaction integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor staff and managers.
• Support business development and client relationship management.
