Job summary

Jobtailor, based in Massachusetts, seeks a Senior Salesforce System Engineer to lead architecture and delivery for CRM platforms, emphasizing Health Cloud and Sales Cloud. You will own system design, security standards, and hands-on implementation in regulated environments while guiding engineers and ensuring scalable, compliant solutions.

You will collaborate with Commercial, Clinical Ops, Customer Support, Data/Integration, and IT Security to translate business needs into robust Salesforce

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a technical discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Senior Salesforce System Engineer or Technical Consultant.
  • 3+ years working with Salesforce Health Cloud and/or Sales Cloud in regulated environments.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with MuleSoft or a comparable iPaaS platform.
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce declarative tools including Flows, Permissions, Object Model, Profiles, and Sharing Settings.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with external platforms via REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, or file loads.
  • Knowledge of Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components, and deployment tools (e.g., Change Sets, VS Code, DevOps Center, CI/CD).
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Connect, External Objects, data sync strategies, and error handling.
  • Experience designing data models for B2B and B2C use cases.
  • Strong working knowledge of HIPAA and data privacy standards.
  • Proven track record managing cross-functional projects and workshops.
  • Comfortable with Agile, Jira or Aha! for backlog/roadmap management.
  • Active Salesforce certifications preferred.
  • Experience in med-tech or FDA-regulated domains preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical lead and solution architect for CRM platforms.
  • Own Salesforce system design, configuration standards, and technical implementation across Health Cloud, Sales Cloud, and related solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, secure Salesforce solutions.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams including IT Security and Compliance.
  • Design data models and sharing architecture enforcing HIPAA minimum-necessary access.
  • Produce technical designs and evaluate declarative-versus-code trade-offs.
  • Design and implement Agentforce and AI-enabled Salesforce capabilities.
  • Build advanced Flows, Apex, asynchronous processing, and Lightning Web Components.
  • Review Apex and LWC work from internal engineers and external partners.
  • Build and maintain Salesforce integrations with Veeva, Snowflake, and AWS using MuleSoft.
  • Design integration error handling, retry/replay behavior, and reconciliation.
  • Investigate and resolve cross-system data discrepancies.
  • Size and sequence work with the Salesforce Product Manager.
  • Deliver enhancements through sandbox, deployment automation, release docs, and change control.
  • Operate within GitLab DevOps pipelines with GxP change-control evidence.
  • Improve pipeline and release tooling, including automated testing and static analysis.
  • Assess and remediate Salesforce seasonal-release impacts.
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA, FDA security and data-retention requirements.
  • Partner with IT Security and Compliance on encryption, access controls, and audit logging.
  • Lead Salesforce security reviews.
  • Maintain technical documentation for data models, integrations, and configuration.
  • Own platform health, scalability, technical debt, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as Tier 3 escalation point.
  • Provide technical guidance to admins and engineers and onboard new team members.
