Job summary

University Studies Abroad Consortium in Reno is seeking a Senior Salesforce Developer to design, implement, and manage Salesforce solutions, including Education Cloud, and to integrate third-party applications while providing technical leadership to the team.

The ideal candidate will have strong Salesforce development skills, CRM process knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions. This role reports to the Manager of Software Development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Salesforce development and customization.
  • Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data model, and security.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, SOQL, SOSL, and automations.
  • Experience with Experience Cloud and CI/CD processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom Salesforce apps, integrations, and workflows with Education Cloud features.
  • Mentor juniors, perform code reviews, and ensure best practices in architecture.
  • Customize objects, fields, layouts, and record types to meet requirements.
  • Develop Apex classes, triggers, Visualforce, LWCs, and OmniStudio components.
  • Implement API integrations and maintain unit tests; troubleshoot issues.
  • Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions.
  • Maintain configuration and integration documentation; stay updated on Salesforce releases.
  • Manage sandboxes, source control (GitHub), CI/CD pipelines, and deployments.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Salesforce Developer who is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Salesforce solutions, integrating third-party applications, and providing technical leadership to other developers. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Salesforce development, a deep understanding of CRM processes, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and efficient solutions. This position reports to the Manager of Software Development.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position and will be paid on a salary basis. Hybrid and remote options are available. Qualified U.S. applicants are encouraged to apply.

General Responsibilities
  • Design and develop custom applications, integrations, and workflows on the Salesforce platform, with a focus on Education Cloud features.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, code review, ensuring adherence to best practices in coding and system architecture.
  • Customize Salesforce objects, fields, page layouts, and record types to meet business requirements.
  • Develop Apex classes, triggers, Visualforce pages, and Lightning Web Components (LWC)and OmniStudio components.
  • Implement and maintain API integrations between Salesforce and external systems.
  • Write and maintain unit tests and troubleshoot issues to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, customizations, and integrations.
  • Stay updated on Salesforce releases and best practices to optimize and maintain system performance.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving application issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Provisioning sandboxes, source control (GitHub), managing CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC).
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data model, and security model.
  • Experience with Salesforce APIs (REST/SOAP).
  • Knowledge of SOQL and SOSL queries.
  • Familiarity with Flows, triggers, and automations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in Agile environments and manage multiple priorities.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I Certification.
  • Experience with Experience Cloud.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with stakeholders and team members.
  • Ability to manage complex security models and oversee data integrity within the Salesforce environment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The duties of this job are mainly performed in a regular office environment with occasional small trips outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the building. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
