Job summary
AFS Commodities in New York is seeking a Sales Trader to operate at the intersection of sustainability and capital markets, building a profitable, forward-looking trading book and unlocking value for clients.
You will originate relationships with corporates, utilities, and project developers across North America, and structure and close trades in RECs, carbon, RNG and related products, while coordinating with risk and operations for smooth execution.
Qualifications
- 2+ years in sales, trading, or brokerage in environmental commodities.
- Fluent in English; Spanish is a significant advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Strong commercial drive with a proven track record of monetizing relationships.
Responsibilities
- Originate client relationships with corporates, utilities, developers, and counterparties across North America and globally.
- Quote, structure, negotiate, and close trades in RECs, carbon, RNG and related products.
- Drive revenue growth through targeted outreach and smart deal structuring.
- Stay ahead of regulatory developments and evolving market dynamics.
- Collaborate with analysts, operations, and risk/KYC teams for smooth execution.
