Job summary

The Barnett in New Orleans is seeking a Senior Sales Manager responsible for selling guestrooms for an assigned market segment and supporting the sales and catering team to meet budgeted targets. This on-site position requires on-property attendance 5 days per week.

You will generate leads, conduct site inspections, travel locally for outside calls, and negotiate contracts while building lasting client relationships to drive occupancy and revenue.

Qualifications

  • College degree or high school diploma with related experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years of past sales experience preferred
  • Experience in a similar size and quality hotel preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist sales and catering team in achieving and exceeding budgeted goals in guestroom revenue, profit and occupancy for the total hotel
  • Conduct weekly sales calls to existing and new accounts, as well as uncover new business in assigned market segment(s)
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new accounts to enable future bookings
  • Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel and review competition reader boards to develop leads
  • Generate leads and new business through internet searches, telephone and email solicitations, mailings, referrals, networking, trade shows, professional and community organizations

The Senior Sales Manager will assist the sales and catering team in meeting or exceeding the hotel’s budgeted financial targets and is also responsible for meeting their assigned monthly sales goals.
