Job summary

Venteon is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to join a manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit Area. The role requires strong technical sales experience with industrial fluids, lubricants, and coatings, and involves developing strategic territory plans and frequent customer visits.

Candidates should have a mechanical or chemical engineering background with proven ability to communicate complex technical value, drive growth, and collaborate with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering preferred, or equivalent experience within engineering, manufacturing, industrial or chemical environments.
• 5 years of technical sales experience within industrial fluid technology or related industries preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with various metal working processes preferred.
• Strong technical foundation in manufacturing processes, equipment and production method.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a strategic territory and customer coverage plan to achieve budget and growth objectives.
• Conduct regular customer and prospect visits to promote, support, and sell company products, requiring extensive travel.
• Deliver persuasive technical sales presentations that clearly communicate value of products and services.
• Proactively manage customer follow-up activities, including call reports, sample requests, project support, and inquiries.
• Collaborate with the technical team to generate performance data, resolve product issues, and provide technical support.
• Initiate and manage product testing and optimization goals to support customer applications.
• Maintain accurate documentation of customer activities in the CRM system and participate in sales planning.
