Additionally, this individual must demonstrate effective leadership skills and effectively incorporate safety programs on the plant floor.**Essential Functions*** Strong support of line management using leading indicator metrics to analyze, direct, and assess the safety process. + Develop EHS related policies and procedures. + Serve as a technical resource and monitor regulatory compliance programs.* Identify, evaluate, and control occupational exposures through aggressive and frequent worksite hazard analysis.* Train the management team and workforce in key program elements.* Conduct audits and develop EHS improvement strategies.* Lead a joint company/union safety committee and work closely with all employees to facilitate an injury-free environment.### Requirements**Basic Qualifications*** B.S. degree in Safety Science or Safety and Health Management* Three years of professional safety experience**Preferred Qualifications*** Experience working within a manufacturing environment and/or experience in the metals industry**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*** Applicants must have a working knowledge of Windows based computer applications* Applicants must be self-motivated* Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills. **We thrive when the expectations are great, and the barriers are high.
