Job summary

Solid Power, Inc. is seeking a Senior Safety Specialist to support the growth of our next‑generation battery manufacturing operations. You will partner with operations, engineering, maintenance, laboratory, and business teams to strengthen safety performance and regulatory compliance.

The role leads hazard analyses, incident investigations, emergency preparedness, training coordination, and continuous improvement of EHS programs and Process Safety Management across facilities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of EHS experience, including 2+ years in high-hazard manufacturing with PSM requirements.
• Experience supporting chemical, industrial gas, battery manufacturing, or similarly regulated operations.
• Experience conducting audits, hazard assessments, JSAs, and risk assessments.
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119, 29 CFR 1910.1450, and NFPA 70E required.
• Proficiency with EHS management systems and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other regulations.
• Maintain chemical inventories, SDS databases, and labeling per GHS.
• Lead safety audits, hazard analyses, JSAs, and safety reviews.
• Lead investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions closure.
• Develop and improve EHS policies, procedures, and emergency plans.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, labs, and engineering to embed safe work practices.
• Monitor safety indicators, incident trends, and risk assessments for improvement.
• Support hazardous material inventory, waste management, and safety KPIs.
• Coordinate EHS training and regulatory training requirements.
