Job summary

Andrews Cooper in the hardtech space is seeking a Safety Manager to lead safety and quality on custom automation builds. You will mentor technicians and coordinate lab and shop operations while ensuring adherence to safety standards and company processes.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to travel up to 10% between client sites. A background in mechanical/electrical safety and familiarity with CAD/drawings is preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Safety Manager and/or Automation Manager.
• 5+ years building complex non-standardized equipment or products.
• Passion for keeping employees safe around complex equipment and wiring.
• Excellent communication and collaborative leadership skills.
• Up to 10% travel between locations; reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety and quality on custom automation builds.
• Create process documentation to maintain safety and quality standards.
• Lead technicians supporting mechanical, electrical, and system builds and testing.
• Oversee day-to-day lab and shop operations including scheduling and priorities.
• Ensure adherence to safety practices and quality processes.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance for assembly, troubleshooting, and testing.
• Partner with engineering leadership to support project delivery timelines.
• Mentor and develop technicians through training and feedback.
