Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a seasoned Safety & Occupational Health Manager to lead site-wide EHS programs and risk assessments at our Summit, NJ campus. The role emphasizes ergonomics, regulatory compliance, and proactive safety leadership across manufacturing, labs, and facilities.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in EHS within GMP settings, strong investigation and project management skills, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in EHS, preferably GMP manufacturing, biotech, pharma, or R&D.
• Minimum of five (5) years of broad EHS experience with safety and industrial hygiene principles.
• Minimum of three (3) years of facility and laboratory audits.
• Minimum of two (2) years of ergonomic assessments and corrective actions.
• Experience interfacing with regulators, inspectors, and external auditors.
• Professional certifications such as CSP/CIH/CHMM are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS programs, policies, and training for operational risk and ergonomics in offices, manufacturing, labs, and warehouses.
• Perform hazard, risk, exposure, and ergonomic assessments for current and new processes.
• Support GMP cell therapy manufacturing operations and facilities teams.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, safety, and health laws.
• Lead investigations and implement robust corrective actions.
