Job summary

Alvah Contracting LLC is seeking a Safety Manager to lead safety programs across our utility infrastructure projects. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and overseeing safety initiatives that protect workers and meet regulatory and client standards.

You will collaborate with operations leadership, field teams, and clients to promote a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement, traveling as needed to site locations across the western United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Safety, Engineering, EHS, Construction Management, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive safety leadership in utility construction or related industries.
• Professional certification such as CHST, CUSP, CSP required.
• Strong OSHA, ANSI/ASSP knowledge and safety management systems.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and incident investigation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee comprehensive safety programs across all projects.
• Prequalify and review safety documentation, training, and certifications.
• Monitor OSHA compliance and client safety requirements.
• Conduct field audits, inspections, and jobsite observations.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze safety data and drive continuous improvement.
• Facilitate safety meetings, orientations, and training initiatives.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement, and safety teams on subcontractor safety.
• Support regulatory reporting and client audits.
• Develop performance scorecards and coach teams.
• Maintain relationships with leadership to promote accountability and improvement.
• Champion proactive safety culture and shared responsibility.
