Job summary

HITT Contracting is seeking a Safety Manager in Atlanta to lead safety performance across assigned units, mentor the safety team, and champion corporate safety culture.

You will conduct inspections, analyze incidents, develop training, and ensure compliance with OSHA and client requirements. This role requires strong communication, leadership, and the ability to manage multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field preferred.
• CHST, CSP or equivalent professional safety designation.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• OSHA 30 Hour for construction; OSHA 500 preferred.
• Degree and five years of experience or eight+ years of construction safety experience.
• Knowledge of high hazard areas (cranes, fall protection, scaffold, excavation, electrical).
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple needs and demands.
• Discretion handling confidential information.
• Flexible with schedules and travel as needed.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and under emergency conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead OSHA or third-party safety inspections independently.
• Develop and deliver safety toolbox meetings and orientations.
• Mentor and coach Safety Department staff and site operations.
• Assess safety training needs and implement effective programs.
• Analyze inspection and incident data to identify trends and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and client safety regulations.
• Respond to emergencies or crisis situations and lead investigations.
• Collaborate with project teams to implement site-specific safety plans.
