Job summary

HITT Contracting seeks a Senior Safety Manager to lead the safety program across multiple projects and business units. You will supervise direct reports, conduct performance reviews, and drive safety training, inspections and incident investigations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and client requirements.

You will collaborate with Operations Leadership to set safety goals, assess needs, and guide subcontractors on safety practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field preferred.
• CHST, CSP or equivalent professional safety designation.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• OSHA 30 Hour for construction; OSHA 500 preferred.
• Degree and eight years of experience or twelve+ years in construction safety; substitutions allowed.
• Strong writing and verbal communication; effective public speaking.
• Ability to prioritize multiple needs across diverse areas.
• Willingness to lead emergency or crisis conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct report workloads and staffing recommendations.
• Conduct regular checks and yearly performance evaluations.
• Train and support Safety Supervisors/Managers as needed.
• Lead safety inspections and incident investigations.
• Develop safety policies and lead toolbox talks.
• Collaborate with Operations Leadership on safety goals and growth.
• Lead crisis response and coordinate with site operations.
