Job summary

HITT Contracting is seeking a Safety Manager to lead safety performance across assigned business units. You will assess needs, develop corporate safety programs, and oversee training, inspections, and incident investigations.

The role requires CHST/CSP or equivalent, OSHA 30 Hour, and several years in construction safety. You will mentor teams, partner with operations, and promote a strong safety culture at HITT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field preferred, CHST/CSP or equivalent designation.
• OSHA 30 Hour for construction required; OSHA 500 preferred.
• Five years of construction safety experience or eight+ years of safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct report workloads and staffing based on project volume and department needs.
• Conduct regular check-ins and yearly performance evaluations for direct reports.
• Assess training and learning needs for direct reports and provide mentorship.
• Train and support Safety Department members as needed.
• Review career path goals with team members and provide feedback.
• Participate in retention and recruiting of Safety Department staff.
• Manage outside consultant project needs and performance.
• Evaluate safety compliance across multiple projects and business units.
• Lead safety inspections on site, using Predictive Solutions System.
• Analyze inspection and incident data to identify trends and address needs.
• Set inspection criteria and measure performance across projects.
• Coordinate safety onboarding and toolbox talks for teams.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, local, corporate, and client safety regulations.
• Develop and deliver safety training and orientations.
