Job summary

SK battery America Safety and Health Manager directly manages and coordinates the activities of Sr. Engineers, Engineers and Coordinators in SHE (work environment, occupational health & safety, fire prevention).

He / She interacts with a wide range of stakeholders to identify issues and report on alternatives. Role includes workforce planning, compliance management, emergency planning, and government relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Safety, or related field.
• 10–12 years of relevant experience and 5–7 years of supervisory/managerial experience in Safety and Health.
• Certifications (preferred): ASP (Associate Safety Professional), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), OHST (Occupational Health and Safety Technologist).

Responsibilities

• Plan and optimize headcounts for Safety and Health (work environment, occupational health and safety, fire prevention).
• Manage and respond to employee relations issues regarding SHE operating workforce (Sr. Engineers, Engineers, and Coordinators).
• Coach and train Sr. Engineers, Engineers and Coordinators to develop SHE related skills and professional / general competencies.
• Appraise the Sr. Engineers, Engineers, and Coordinators performance and give productive feedback.
• Address complaints and resolve problems of Sr. Engineers, Engineers, and Coordinators.
• Review assessment and compliance on the following: OSHA and Occupational Health / Safety and Fire Prevention Status.
• Review the emergency scenarios for all production processes.
• Establish reporting process for government agencies and emergency response procedures in case of on-site accidents.
• Create and manage the documents required for ISO 45001 and HQ standards.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Safety, or related field

Certifications: ASP, CSP, CIH, OHST
