Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions is seeking a Safety, Environmental and Mission Assurance Manager to lead safety and environmental compliance across SIMO operations. You will promote a proactive safety culture, oversee training, inspections, incident analysis, and emergency preparedness while advising leadership on risk reduction and safe work execution.

The role requires 15+ years in related safety fields, leadership experience, a relevant degree (or equivalent), OSHA 30, emergency/ICS credentials,

Qualifications

• 15+ years of related operational or industrial safety experience.
• Six years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Bachelor’s degree or alternative high school diploma plus years of experience; see solicitation.
• OSHA 30 certification and emergency medical training; ICS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure employees follow health, safety, and environmental requirements and promote safe execution across SIMO operations.
• Oversee safety training and communication on policies, regulations, procedures, hazard recognition, and safe work practices.
• Advise leadership on safety and environmental issues for projects, maintenance, operations, and emergency response.
• Coordinate inspections and assessments to verify compliance with requirements and procedures.
• Maintain current safety and environmental records and documentation.
• Analyze incident reports, injury trends, metrics, and case studies; recommend corrective actions.
• Support reliability and quality‑assurance implementation assessments and coordinate findings.
• Manage day‑to‑day operation of the assigned function, including priorities, policies, and resources.
• Lead, coach, and support safety personnel and leaders; foster a reporting culture free of fear.
• Support hurricane prep, emergency planning, disaster response, and recovery as applicable.
• Monitor productivity and verify compliance for assigned functions.
• Coordinate with maintenance/operations to integrate safety into work planning and continuous improvement.
