Job summary

Millerbernd Manufacturing in Winsted, MN is seeking a Senior Safety and Environmental Specialist to ensure safety and regulatory compliance across processes. The role includes planning and facilitating trainings, maintaining safety policies, and managing environmental reporting.

This onsite position emphasizes incident investigation, audits, and cross-functional collaboration. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, experience in manufacturing safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety, or related curriculum or a combination of education and experience equivalent to this requirement
• Experience leading safety improvements in manufacturing
• Experience or exposure to environmental and/or regulatory environments
• OSHA 511 certification preferred
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, protocols, and/or procedures.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to develop, implement, and continuously revise safety programs
• Ability to influence employees and leaders for a safe work environment
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of Safety Program, Program Results, and Continuous Improvement
• Inspect facilities/equipment to identify and correct hazards and compliance issues
• Inspect workplace environments, activities, and conditions to verify compliance with federal laws, regulations, and requirements
• Develop, deliver, and facilitate safety and environmental compliance and awareness trainings
• Develop, maintain, and cascade safety policies
• Manage environmental compliance and reporting
• Manage OSHA compliance tasks
• Investigate environmental issues and recommend solutions and fixes
• Investigate workplace incidents to identify root problems, eliminate existing dangers, recommend prevention measures, and assist the team in implementing prevention solutions
• Support internal and external audits
• Manage medical responder team
• Conduct routine and follow-up safety, environmental, and hazard inspections
• Support the continuous evolution of our safety culture
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
• Manage 3 rd party relationships supporting our Safety program
