Job summary

Mind Robotics is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to own functional safety end-to-end for our humanoid platform, including hazard analysis, architectural decisions, component selection, and certification testing. You will guide safety work across mechanical, electrical, controls, and AI teams and drive the technical file for certification.

The role requires deep knowledge of ISO/IEC safety standards, hands-on certification experience, and a track record of delivering safe, auditable safety

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of safety engineering experience on industrial robots or similar machinery.
• Strong knowledge of relevant safety standards: ISO 13849, IEC 62061, IEC 61508, ISO 10218 (or ANSI/RIA R15.06).
• Hands-on experience taking a product through safety certification.
• Experience with safety architectures (E-stops, safety-rated monitored stops, PF brake, etc.).
• Familiarity with ISO/TS 15066 for collaborative applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safety lifecycle for the humanoid platform (hazard analysis, risk assessment, SIL/PL, safety requirements, validation).
• Design safety architectures suitable for a mobile, dynamically balancing robot.
• Select and justify safety-rated components and alternatives achieving safety integrity.
• Drive certification efforts and maintain the technical file.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, and AI teams to bake safety into the design.
• Build test fixtures, procedures, and evidence to prove safety claims.
• Stay ahead of evolving standards and translate them into engineering decisions.
