Job summary

Ford in Louisville, KY seeks a Senior Engineer, Occupational Safety, who serves as site safety SME. The role develops innovative safety solutions, implements the Safety Operating System, and leads plant-wide safety processes and projects to improve hazard control and risk management.

You will conduct inspections, coordinate incident investigations, and drive training programs across the site while collaborating with cross-functional leaders to strengthen safety performance and regulatory

Qualifications

• Must have or be pursuing a related degree in Occupational Health & Safety.
• 1 year of OHS work experience with a Master’s degree or 2 years with a Bachelor’s degree.
• Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant-wide safety processes including safety operating system, emergency response planning and safety training orientations.
• Participate in inspections and audits to identify hazards, risks, and ensure compliance with laws and corporate policies.
• Support launch activities for new projects and guide engineers on safe implementation across locations.
• Consult with cross-functional leaders on incident investigations and develop corrective actions.
• Identify training needs to prevent injuries and oversee safety training materials.
