Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to partner with Worldwide Design Engineering for compliant equipment in operational buildings. You will lead risk assessments, guide designs, and ensure controls meet standards across regions. Travel 25–50% will be required.

You will work with Operations, Reliability and Maintenance Engineering, Field WHS, and other stakeholders to drive safety solutions and ensure regulatory compliance in multiple regions.

Qualifications

• Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans and tests.
• 3+ years owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery and leadership communication.
• 6+ years in safety engineering programs in manufacturing or production.
• Knowledge of EU/NA standards (EU Machinery Directive, ISO, ANSI, OSHA, NFPA).
• Experience with NRTL and Notified Bodies for certifications.

Responsibilities

• Complete risk evaluations per ISO12100 and ANSI B11 practices.
• Advise on regulations, standards, and safe operating procedures.
• Review designs of new equipment and modifications for safety compliance.
• Lead cross-functional reviews with engineering, operations and WHS teams.
• Maintain regulatory compliance documentation and participate in new standards.
• Manage projects requiring certifications across regions.
