Job summary

Frequentis USA, Inc. in Maryland seeks an experienced security-focused systems engineer to configure and commission IT and network components in safety-critical settings.

You will own engineering deliverables, ensure compliance, and collaborate with FAA to document requirements. You will also create sighting documents for airport cameras, perform acceptance tests, and bring a safety mindset to the project team.

Qualifications

• Video technologies and protocols experience.
• Proficient with RHEL and Windows operating systems.
• Strong networking knowledge (Layer2/Layer3, UDP/TCP/Multicast).
• Experience with security tooling (IdM, SSL, IPSec/VPN, SELinux, AIDE).
• Familiar with ELK/OpenSearch and Splunk for log aggregation.
• Knowledge of Wireshark and network analysis.
• Docker container experience.
• Systems monitoring with Zabbix/SNMP.
• DBs (PostgreSQL/MySQL/MongoDB) knowledge.
• Scripting in Bash/PowerShell/Perl/Python.

Responsibilities

• Configure and commission IT/network components in security-critical environments.
• Own engineering deliverables, ensuring design compliance and quality.
• Create sighting documents from LOS calculations for airport cameras.
• Collaborate with FAA and stakeholders to capture requirements.
• Ensure requirements are defined, documented, and agreed.
• Coordinate with internal/external suppliers across the Frequentis Group.
• Conduct acceptance tests with customers and project teams.
• Serve as safety engineer, driving safety mindset in projects.
• Investigate and apply innovative technologies to improve outcomes.
