Job summary

Frequentis USA Inc. is seeking a hands-on Systems/Field Engineer in Maryland/Columbia to integrate software and hardware, install and configure telecom systems, and support mission-critical solutions for government customers.

You will conduct site surveys, perform tests, and deliver detailed configuration documentation. The role requires 3–9 years of experience with networking, systems engineering, and IT security tools, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/IS/EE/CS or equivalent.
• 3–9 years' experience in Systems/Field Engineering with hardware/software integration.
• Ability to implement best-practice engineering concepts.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; highly organized.
• Experience with log aggregation tools (ELK/Opensearch, Splunk).
• Familiar with network analysis tools (Wireshark, Stablenet).
• Experience with system monitoring tools (Zabbix, SNMP) and security (IdM, SSL, IPSec/VPN, SELinux, AIDE).

Responsibilities

• Hands-on integration of software and hardware components.
• Install, configure, and manage networking and telecom hardware.
• Analyze product implementations per customer specs.
• Conduct site surveys and prepare system configuration docs.
• Install, service, and repair equipment at customer sites.
• Perform system integration and debugging of mission-critical components.
• Lead factory and site acceptance tests.
• Support production team in troubleshooting.
• Provide training and detailed reports to management.
• Assist remote monitoring and Tier 2 on-call support.
• Interface with customers to ensure requirements are met.
• Collaborate with system engineering and development teams.
