Job summary

TOTE Maritime Puerto Rico is seeking a Manager of Compliance and Safety in Jacksonville to lead safety initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance across the IMS framework. You will guide audits, training, and program development within a maritime context.

The role requires strong leadership, robust communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance safety and compliance goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety and compliance preferred.
• 5+ years maritime or vessel experience preferred.
• Knowledge of marine transportation and marine terminal operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to influence employees at all levels.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Knowledge of applicable legal and other requirements.
• Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organization in implementation of new safety strategies designed to eliminate injury.
• Audit Stevedore contractors to ensure safety initiatives are followed.
• Oversee Record Retention services.
• Promote a safety culture through training, recognition, and communication of safety goals.
• Coordinate with Saltchuk and TOTE, Inc. on safety/compliance programs.
• Prepare high-quality reports and presentations for senior leadership and governance bodies.
