Job summary

Golden Limousine International in Michigan is seeking a Senior Officer of Safety and Compliance to oversee risk management, regulatory compliance, and training across the organization. This role reports to the CFO and coordinates with divisions to ensure DOT and FMCSA rules, state laws, and company policies are followed.

Responsibilities include managing driver checks, DOT rosters, inspections, HOS monitoring, accident procedures, safety programs, and training materials.

Qualifications

• College Degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience in a similar role.
• Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, interpersonal—and ability to work with supervision and management to facilitate training.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures; write routine reports and speak to groups.
• Proficient with computer and appropriate software.
• Experience in hazard assessment, accident investigation and controls.
• Understand Federal and State regulations and basic company safety policy terminology to communicate with HR, drivers, and management.
• Sense of urgency and ownership regarding the role and department needs.
• Proficient in MS Word/Excel; intermediate data entry skills.
• Driver's license; CDL a plus; CPR/First Aid/AED; NATMI certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform applicant checks (MVR, PSP, background check, FMCSA Drug, and Alcohol Clearing House)
• Inspection of driver qualifications, company equipment, and contractor’s vehicles
• Maintain DOT rosters for all authorities
• Assist Fleet Manager with DOT inspection scheduling as needed
• Monitor HOS and 150-mile radius driving/log; make corrections and retrain on usage
• Monitor and oversee driver’s license and DOT card renewals and upgrade credentials
• Build, monitor, and update driver audit files
• Initial emergency response - minor claims, accidents
• Network fleet speed monitoring and response
• Follow accident procedures for incidents and serious/recordable accidents
• Process titles, plates, registrations, and insurance for acquired vehicles; all plate renewals
• Verify MC90 filings yearly for insurance renewals
• Yearly DOT registration renewals
• Maintain URC registrations, MCS 150 updates, and renewals, BOC-3 form maintenance
• Plan and implement OSHA and DOT policies and programs
• Monitor DATA Q files and FMCSA website information
• Develop OCR 100 forms for MIOSHA reporting regarding injuries
• Advise and lead employees on safety topics
• Prepare educational seminars and webinars
• Work with fleet manager, mechanics, and drivers on vehicle maintenance and safety programs
• Conduct risk assessment for the facility and off-lots
• Enforce preventative measures
• Monitor and verify safety compliance by employees
• Investigate, prepare, and present reports on accidents and root causes; develop preventive measures
• Determine and administer post-accident retraining with department heads
