Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Safety Chief Engineer – Level 4 for 100% onsite work in Promontory, UT. The role serves as the technical authority for EHS, Sustainability and Security across programs, ensuring contractual requirements are met on time and within budget.

The candidate will lead the EHS vision, develop strategic goals, and coordinate with the Program office and customer. A high level of experience in aerospace and DoD compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 4 years of professional experience.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
• Prior Aerospace experience working with rocket motor design, manufacturing and/or quality.
• Strong working knowledge of EHS, Sustainability and Security policies, procedures and processes.
• Ability to craft solutions to meet program unique requirements while maintaining compliance to DoD4145, HOPS, etc.
• Must have proven experience in effectively prioritizing competing and demanding priorities to satisfy EHS requirements.
• Strong organization, planning, execution and budget management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with customers

Responsibilities

• Applies extensive technical expertise to the review, negotiation and flow down of Contractual deliverable requirements for the EHS, Sustainability and Security sections.
• Applies technical expert level knowledge to the EHS, Sustainability and Security requirements for facilities and equipment proposals to support Program needs.
• Facilitates information flow with the Program office and customer on EHS, Sustainability and Security topics.
• Ensures resources across EHS, Sustainability and Security are provided when and where needed to support Program success.
• Lead efforts to develop, communicate and implement the EHS vision, strategy, goals and metrics to help meet business and program objectives.
• Other duties as assigned
