Northrop Grumman seeks a Safety Chief Engineer – Level 4 in Promontory, UT. This on-site role acts as the technical authority for EHS, Sustainability and Security on assigned programs and ensures contractual requirements are met on time and within budget. The position features a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.

The candidate will apply extensive expertise to risk, compliance and program needs, coordinating across S&MA and customer teams while guiding EHS strategy and metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience OR Master’s with 6 years OR PhD with 4 years.
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Prior Aerospace experience with rocket motor design, manufacturing or quality.
  • Strong working knowledge of EHS, Sustainability and Security policies, procedures and processes.
  • Ability to craft solutions to meet program requirements while maintaining DoD4145/HOPS compliance.
  • Proven experience prioritizing competing and demanding priorities to satisfy EHS requirements.
  • Strong organization, planning, execution and budget management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Job Overview

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Safety Chief Engineer – Level 4 to join our team in Promontory, UT. The Safety Chief Engineer (SCE) Level 4 is the definitive technical authority for all Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS), Sustainability and Security aspects on assigned programs. Ensures that EHS, Sustainability and Security contractual requirements are implemented through our systems and will engage across S&MA organizations and into other organizations to assure these contract requirements are met on time and within budget. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Responsibilities

  • Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience - OR - Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience - OR - PhD with 4 years of professional experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Prior Aerospace experience working with rocket motor design, manufacturing and/or quality.
  • Strong working knowledge of EHS, Sustainability and Security policies, procedures and processes.
  • Ability to craft solutions to meet program unique requirements while maintaining compliance to DoD4145, HOPS, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with customers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced STEM degree or MBA.
  • Advanced level knowledge of HOPS and DoD 4145 compliance.
  • Ability to get things done through others without directly supervising them.

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
