Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Safety Chief Engineer – Level 4 in Promontory, UT. This on-site role acts as the technical authority for EHS, Sustainability and Security on assigned programs and ensures contractual requirements are met on time and within budget. The position features a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.

The candidate will apply extensive expertise to risk, compliance and program needs, coordinating across S&MA and customer teams while guiding EHS strategy and metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience OR Master’s with 6 years OR PhD with 4 years.
• Must have ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Prior Aerospace experience with rocket motor design, manufacturing or quality.
• Strong working knowledge of EHS, Sustainability and Security policies, procedures and processes.
• Ability to craft solutions to meet program requirements while maintaining DoD4145/HOPS compliance.
• Proven experience prioritizing competing and demanding priorities to satisfy EHS requirements.
• Strong organization, planning, execution and budget management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Review, negotiate and flow down Contractual deliverable requirements for EHS, Sustainability and Security.
• Apply expert knowledge to EHS, Sustainability and Security requirements for facilities and equipment proposals.
• Facilitate information flow with Program office and customer on EHS topics.
• Lead Safety Board flow down, CARs, SCARs, Program Risk elements and Red Flag reports.
• Ensure resources across EHS, Sustainability and Security are provided to support program success.
• Lead efforts to develop and implement EHS vision, strategy, goals and metrics.
