Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Rust Developer to build a Rust SDK that enables client apps to securely communicate with backend services via gRPC. You will design stable, developer-friendly interfaces for mobile apps, game engines, and other client environments.

You will collaborate with backend, mobile, web, game, and product teams to define contracts, improve performance, security, and testing, and contribute to documentation and samples to improve developer experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on Rust experience.
• Production-grade gRPC experience.
• Experience designing reusable libraries and SDKs.
• Strong written and spoken English in distributed teams.
• Nice to have familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a Rust-based SDK for communication with backend services via gRPC.
• Design clear, stable, and well-documented public interfaces for client developers.
• Implement secure, reliable networking, error handling, retries, and lifecycle management.
• Support SDK integration into mobile apps and game engines.
• Collaborate with backend, mobile, web, game, and product teams to define contracts.
• Contribute to protocol design, versioning, compatibility, testing, and release processes.
• Improve developer experience through docs, samples, tests, and guidance.
• Identify and address performance, reliability, observability, and security concerns.
