You will prototype advanced tracking algorithms, integrate multi-sensor fusion, and guide architectural decisions to maintain scalable production systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering and a technical degree.
• Experience refactoring software in production and reducing debt.
• 2+ years on a single codebase maintaining and evolving it.
• Proficiency in Rust and Python.
• Strong mathematical background: linear algebra, optimization, probability.
• Experience with big data pipelines and NoSQL databases.
• Eligible for a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define and influence the direction of a small team, leveraging expertise in target tracking and state estimation.
• Architect, maintain, and evolve complex software systems, refactoring legacy code for performance and scalability.
• Prototype and deploy state-of-the-art algorithms for tracking, sensor fusion, and state estimation in agile environments.
• Develop high-performance Rust software for real-time systems, from tactical implementations to simulations.
• Design robust filters and probabilistic reasoning systems for noisy sensor data.
• Apply software design patterns to manage technical debt and guide production systems.
• Analyze system performance with simulations and modeling tools to validate benefits.
• Drive customer success by customizing algorithms for mission-critical use cases.
• Integrate tracking and estimation into the software lifecycle from requirements to testing.
