Job summary

Anduril Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to lead a small team focused on target tracking and state estimation for real-time defense applications.

You will architect and evolve complex software systems, prototype cutting-edge algorithms, and deploy high-performance Rust software across tactical and simulation environments. The role requires deep expertise in tracking, sensor fusion, and probabilistic reasoning, with a strong math background and the ability to handle

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a technical degree.
• Experience shaping software architecture in production, refactoring legacy systems, and reducing technical debt.
• At least 2+ years on a single codebase/product with evolving requirements.
• Proficiency in Rust and Python; strong algorithms and statistical modeling background.
• Knowledge of applied math (linear algebra, optimization, probability, stochastic processes).
• Familiarity with large-scale sensor data, big data pipelines, and NoSQL databases.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define and influence the direction of a small team using your expertise in tracking and state estimation.
• Architect and evolve complex software systems for performance and scalability.
• Prototype and deploy state-of-the-art tracking, data fusion, and state estimation algorithms.
• Develop high-performance Rust software for real-time systems and simulation environments.
• Design robust filters, estimators, and probabilistic reasoning for noisy sensor data.
• Guide production systems with best practices and manage technical debt across lifecycles.
• Analyze system performance with simulations and statistical techniques to validate benefits.
• Translate progress into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
