Job summary

HHAeXchange is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to scale our Rails-based platform, modernize legacy systems, and enable new product growth. You’ll work across Rails, AWS, and Kubernetes, delivering features that directly impact homecare workflows.

The role is remote for candidates in EST or CST time zones in the United States, with travel 10-25% and on-call rotation. Ideal for experienced, collaborative engineers who value reliability and impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production-grade Rails apps.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Proficient in AWS services (ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3).
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.

Responsibilities

• Write scalable Ruby on Rails services and maintain code quality.
• Design, build, and optimize database queries and API performance.
• Own end-to-end feature development from concept to release.
• Support legacy systems while delivering new features.
• Participate in on-call rotations and maintain system health.
