Job summary

AnewHealth is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to develop and maintain our EHR platform using Ruby on Rails, spanning front-end and back-end in an agile environment. The role emphasizes strong SQL, full-stack work, healthcare familiarity, and secure coding practices to handle PHI in production while delivering high-quality features.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development in Ruby (Rails preferred).
• Full-stack experience: front-end (HTML/CSS/JS) and back-end Rails.
• Strong SQL skills with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Healthcare experience or PHI handling preferred.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum and Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with automated tests (RSpec/Capybara) and Git.

Responsibilities

• Platform Development — build/maintain features on the EHR platform using Ruby on Rails across front-end/back-end.
• Front-end work and back-end logic, services, and data access.
• Defect Resolution — triage, debug, and fix production issues.
• New Feature Development — design/implement features, from requirements to testing.
• Data & SQL — write/optimize complex SQL against relational DBs (clinical data).
• Agile Delivery — participate in sprints, planning, standups, reviews; meet timelines.
• Quality & Compliance — write tests, code reviews, secure coding for PHI.
• AI-Enabled Development — use AI tools for docs, data, and code with proper reviews.
