Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Ruby on Rails experience in production environments.
• Deep understanding of Rails conventions, ActiveRecord, background processing (Sidekiq/etc.), and RESTful API design.
• Strong instincts for performance, security, and maintainability.
• Experience with front-end technologies — you can build clean, functional UI and aren’t afraid of JavaScript.
• Active use of AI coding tools in your daily workflow.
• Excellent written communication — your PR descriptions and technical comments are clear and useful.
• Comfort owning work independently and flagging blockers early.

Responsibilities

• Own complex features end-to-end from spec to production.
• Build reliable, scalable Rails systems across models, services, jobs, APIs, and front end.
• Collaborate closely with product and design; push back when needed.
• Use AI to write code, debug, refactor, and document.
• Identify technical debt and propose practical improvements.
• Mentor teammates through thoughtful code reviews and knowledge sharing.
