Job summary

Tandym-Group in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Roku developer to design, build, and maintain Roku application features using BrightScript and SceneGraph, and to refactor code for better architecture and scalability.

You will integrate APIs, authentication flows, and playback, troubleshoot production issues, and work closely with the team in a hybrid setting (at least 4 days onsite per week).

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on Roku development experience with BrightScript and SceneGraph.
• Experience building production Roku applications that include authentication, APIs, playback integration, and multiple screens or user flows.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, clean code principles, separation of concerns, and refactoring.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs into application workflows.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, onsite team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Roku application features using BrightScript and SceneGraph
• Refactor tightly coupled code to improve architecture, maintainability, and scalability
• Integrate and troubleshoot APIs, authentication flows, playback functionality, and multiple user screens
• Support production issues and collaborate with engineering partners to deliver durable fixes
• Work closely with the team to communicate technical decisions clearly and contribute to clean, well-factored code
