Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Robotics Software Engineer to design, build, and integrate software systems powering autonomous robots. You will work across the full robotics stack, from sensor integration to high-level perception and behavior, collaborating with product, design, and operations to translate requirements into robust solutions.

The ideal candidate has strong software fundamentals, hands-on ROS/ROS 2, and a track record of shipping production-ready robotics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Five or more years of robotics software engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Hands-on experience with ROS or ROS 2 in production projects.
• Solid experience with at least one of perception, localization, motion planning, or control.

Responsibilities

• Develop robotics software in C++ and Python, with strong attention to real-time performance and reliability.
• Design and integrate sensor data pipelines including cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, and proprioceptive sensors.
• Implement perception, localization, and mapping algorithms including SLAM and sensor fusion.
• Develop motion planning, control, and trajectory generation algorithms that respect constraints.
• Build behavioral systems using state machines, behavior trees, or task planners.
• Integrate ROS / ROS 2 frameworks with custom hardware and embedded systems.
• Implement safety-critical patterns including watchdogs, fault detection, and safe stops.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and ML engineers, gathering requirements and aligning on technical approach.
• Design and execute field tests, including data collection and post-test analysis.
• Maintain comprehensive, current technical documentation for onboarding and support.
