Job summary

Berkshire Grey is seeking a software engineer to advance learning-based robotics, focusing on perception, planning, and manipulation. You will develop methods for spatial reasoning and sequential decision-making, test in simulation, and transfer to physical robots.

Collaborate with external partners, mentor junior engineers, and communicate priorities. Requires Master’s degree and 4+ years in robotics software; proficiency in Python, C++, PyTorch, and ROS/ROS2.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Robotics, ML, CS or related field.
• 4+ years of software development experience in robotics.
• Strong Python and C++ development skills.
• Experience with PyTorch and robotics frameworks such as ROS/ROS2.
• Experience with numpy, pandas, scipy, matplotlib, scikit-learn.

Responsibilities

• Develop learning methods for spatial reasoning and robotic manipulation.
• Combine learned policies with planning and optimization for constrained tasks.
• Design training/evaluation workflows for task success and robustness.
• Prototype solutions and create demos for stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with external partners.
