Job summary

Berkshire Grey, Inc. is seeking a robotics software engineer to develop learning-based methods for spatial reasoning and sequential decision-making in manipulation tasks.

You will integrate perception, planning, and control, prototype solutions, and prepare demos for stakeholders while advancing robotics capabilities on real systems. The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree with 4+ years in robotics software, strong Python and C++ skills, experience with PyTorch, ROS/ROS2, and hands-on work

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, CS, or related field.
• 4+ years of software development experience with robotics manipulation or related areas.
• Strong development in Python and C++.
• Experience with PyTorch and data science libraries (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib, scikit-learn).
• Experience with ROS/ROS2 and robot simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop learning methods for spatial reasoning, sequential decision-making, and robotic manipulation.
• Combine policies and models with planning and optimization for manipulation tasks.
• Design training/evaluation workflows to measure success, robustness, and efficiency.
• Prototype solutions and create demos for stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with research partners.
