Job summary

Fauna Robotics, an Amazon company, is hiring an Applied Scientist to push state-of-the-art robotics techniques across perception, manipulation, sim2real transfer and multi-task learning. You will guide teams bridging research and deployment with hands‑on and leadership responsibilities.

You will mentor scientists, design novel architectures, and collaborate with software engineers to scale models for real‑world home environments. Expect ambiguity and impactful work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building machine learning models for business applications.
• PhD or Master's with 6+ years applied research experience.
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and ML
• Strong publication record at major Robotics/CV conferences (RSS, CoRL, ICRA, IROS, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV)
• Experience programming in Python, C++, or related language.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical initiatives in robotics foundation models, RL and manipulation; design experiments to identify limitations and develop improved models.
• Design and implement novel deep learning architectures for robot understanding and capability.
• Mentor scientists while contributing technically.
• Collaborate with engineers to optimize and scale models for real‑world applications.
• Influence technical decisions and communicate complex work to non‑technical audiences.
