Job summary

Mytra's robotics team is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own safety-critical software for our robotic fleet. You will translate safety concepts into production code, covering localization, fail-safe communications, and motion-stopping while scaling safety across the stack.

You will mentor developers, collaborate with CV/firmware/systems teams, and select safety toolchains, emphasizing MISRA and static analysis in a fast-paced, on-site Brisbane, CA environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience in taking in-house safety-critical software from concept to production.
• Strong experience with C++ and Python.
• Demonstrated safety-critical software development experience under a recognized safety standard.
• Experience with embedded and real-time systems (RTOS or bare-metal).
• Experience participating in HARA and software DFMEA.
• Experience with MISRA and static analysis toolchains.

Responsibilities

• Own projects such as signal redundancy, sensor fusion, safety-critical state estimation, and fail-safe wireless communications.
• Implement real-time software for safety functions on robots to mitigate hazards.
• Collaborate with CV/firmware/systems teams to deliver safety-critical software.
• Select and integrate safety toolchains and static analysis tooling.
• Contribute to HARA and DFMEA from the implementation side.
• Build robust diagnostic tools to detect and root-cause faults in the field.
• Mentor developers and improve test coverage and coding practices across the stack.
