Job summary

Mytra Robotics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to integrate perception software with robotics firmware across our fleet. You will collaborate with hardware and software teams, own firmware development through the product lifecycle, and contribute to real-time embedded systems critical to robot performance.

The role requires strong Python, C/C++/Rust, multithreading, and robotics knowledge, plus experience with CAN, Ethernet, and network pub/sub like NATS.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong experience with Python, particularly in application and process level development.
• Experience with C/C++/Rust and system level environments.
• Ability to break down complex problems into incremental progress in CI environments.
• Experience coding in concurrent and multithreaded environments.
• Understanding of electromechanical systems, kinematics, and robotics control.
• Experience with network technologies including CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, and NATS.
• Understanding of how hardware changes affect robotics software and vice-versa.
• Understanding of software design and maintainability patterns.
• Preferred experience in embedded software/firmware development.
• Ability to build robust diagnostic tools from system data.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality code across the robotics software stack.
• Implement real-time code for perception and control functions.
• Identify performance and reliability improvements in code changes.
• Contribute to full software feature lifecycles from definition to rollout.
• Contribute to long-term architectural decisions as software evolves.
• Lead and manage integration of prototype systems, including bring-up and debug.
