Job summary

Amazon Robotics is seeking a versatile software engineer to own critical components across robotics middleware, health monitoring, and fleet management, scalable from a single robot to thousands. You will lead multi-engineer projects, shape architectural direction, and mentor junior engineers while writing exemplary code.

You will work across real-time C++ on robots and full-stack AWS applications, applying generative AI to automate workflows and streamline operations in a greenfield platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming in at least one language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Expert level skills in C++.
• Experience with software libraries and tools for building robot applications or communication middleware.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own software components for robotics middleware, health monitoring, and fleet management that scale from individual robots to fleets of thousands.
• Lead the technical design and architecture of systems on a new robotics manipulation platform with real-time constraints and long-term extensibility.
• Collaborate with peer robotics, hardware, and operations teams to define interfaces and ensure end-to-end delivery of integrated robotic systems.
• Apply generative AI tools to automate workflows and accelerate iteration of new capabilities.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on guidance.
